Project: Vetrix Maxi Scooter
Vectrix Corporation designed a high performance two wheeled vehicle which offers excellent acceleration, low operating costs, minimal carbon footprint , low maintenance, simple operation, low noise and zero emissions. The MAXI-Scooter is a perfect solution for congestion in crowded cities throughout the world.
Vectrix needed a feedback device for the brushless motor used to propel the scooter, which was easy to install, rugged, low cost, and utilizes heavier gauge wires with automotive grade interconnect. Vectrix chose the RENCO RE200 Kit Encoder to meet their requirements for this application. The RE200 Kit Encoder provides the resolution and integrated commutation outputs in a low cost, rugged, and easy to install encoder. The RE200 Kit Encoder was customized to use 20 gauge wires with a heavy-duty connector to connect the encoder to the control electronics of the scooter.
The Vectrix Maxi-Scooter has the feel of motorcycle, except the Maxi-Scooter is quieter, uses no fuel and is friendly to the environment.
